In 2017, at just 18 years old, I heard words that changed the direction of my life: “You have Type 2 diabetes.” It was a diagnosis I never imagined receiving at that age. Suddenly, I was forced to confront a reality that felt overwhelming.
“I know what it feels like to lose control of your health. I also know what it feels like to take it back.”
Diabetes was something I had always associated with a later stage of life, not something a teenager should have to think about. My health was no longer something I could ignore. It became something I had to understand.
But my journey was not only about blood sugar. Behind the diagnosis was a deeper struggle with my weight, my confidence, and the way I saw myself. Over time, my weight reached 115 kilograms. Living with obesity affected more than my physical health. It affected my confidence, my mindset, and the way I experienced everyday life. There were moments when I felt like my body was holding me back from becoming the person I wanted to be.
The hardest part of metabolic disease is that people often only see the numbers: the weight on the scale, the glucose readings, the laboratory results. They do not always see the emotional burden behind them. The frustration of trying to change. The disappointment of setbacks. The feeling of wanting your health back but not knowing the right path forward.
I knew I needed to change. I began learning about my own body and took control through exercise, nutrition changes, and intermittent fasting. Slowly, the transformation began. The weight came down. My health improved. Eventually, I achieved something that once seemed impossible: I reversed my Type 2 diabetes.
But my journey also taught me an important truth. Achieving better health and maintaining it are two different challenges. After losing weight, I experienced firsthand what many people experience after a major transformation. Without a deeper understanding of metabolism and without the right long-term support, maintaining progress can become difficult.
That realization changed the way I viewed healthcare. I began to understand that the future of metabolic health could not be based on one-size-fits-all advice. People need personalized strategies that consider their unique biology and provide them with the medical tools, education, and support needed for lasting change.
This understanding led me to explore GLP-1 therapies as part of a broader approach to metabolic health. For me, this was not about finding a shortcut. It was about recognizing that modern medicine and healthy lifestyle practices can work together to give people a better chance at success.
Today, after losing more than 35 kilograms and reaching 78 kilograms, I am not just healthier. I feel like I have regained a part of myself that I thought I had lost. I did not create MetaboliiQ because metabolic health was just a business opportunity. I created it because I understand the journey from the inside.
“My greatest transformation was not losing weight. It was discovering that my health was something I could influence, understand, and rebuild.”
From a teenager diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes to the founder of a metabolic health platform, this journey has shaped everything we stand for. MetaboliiQ is not just about changing numbers on a report. It is about helping people reclaim their confidence, their health, and their future.
